The board of World Heavy Events Association (later mentioned as WHEA) made a decision that USA athlete Rana Afaneh has commit a doping violation.

Afaneh’s doping test in in National Pole, Art, Aerial art & Sport Championships 25th, Aug 2024 have given positive result for the following, prohibited substance in the a-sample:

Carboxy – THC (greater than the decision limit). S8, Cannabinoids

The mentioned substance is probated in the WADA list.

The board notes, that the athlete actively and without delays took part to the explanations, but points out, that Ms Afaneh has failed the athletes responsibilities.

Sanction:

Ms Rana Afaneh has a ban (ineligibility) from the sports to participate any activities (competitions, camps etc) of WHEA/POSA/UPSF during the 6 months period, which starts from 23rd, Sept 2024. The ban ends 23rd, March 2025.
If the athlete wants to return to the competitions after the period – the license must be valid yearly during the ban also.

Ms Rana Afaneh also loses her placing at the above mentioned competition due doping violation.

The athlete has the right to appeal about this decision to CAS
